Pray for the community and any families involved. I speak from experience. My family member was involved in an incident where law enforcement made statements before the whole investigation was completed. Ben Crump showed up on the scene as usual because it involved a young black man's death. He and the family made the usual rounds on national media. Al Sharpton made his usual appearances and provided his NAN stage. Jesse Jackson provided a eulogy over a casket. The city provided a municipal building for the funeral. The city and state had to endure months of protests, looting, blocking of interstates, etc. Once the investigation was completed and the findings were not the result that would produce a fat check, Crump and Sharpton were nowhere to be found. This story plays over and over. It leaves families and communities torn.

Thank you, Virgil, for once again refocusing our attention on Jesus, the only victim who deserves our devotion.

There are six things which the Lord hates,

Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:

Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

And hands that shed innocent blood,

A heart that devises wicked plans,

Feet that run rapidly to evil,

A false witness who utters lies,

And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Pro 6:16-19

Let's strive to be none of the above.

To do that we'll need to take Virgil's challenging advice.
