Thank you for this honest look at a historical figure.
“it is worth noting that many of his followers, like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, utilized his legacy for personal benefit.” 💯
MLK jr was no more of a preacher than Kamala Harris was when she performed in front of the right crowds… much like the average tv evangelist.
They should receive the same response as the Apostles gave Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8.
At the end of the day, it’s each man’s responsibility to make sure they are not deceived by a false teacher. 1st Kings 13 gives a prime example of how God holds each individual accountable for disobeying His Word and listening to a false prophet. It cost that man his life, that’s how serious God sees the responsibility of each individual in the area of deception.
”Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.“
To say that "MLK j was no more of a preacher than Kamala Harris" is nonsense based on ignorance. You've probably never listened to any of his sermons and never read any of his books.
Thank you for this article! Chad O. Jackson has done a lot to correct the historical perception of Martin Luther King Jr. A man wrongly admired, in my humble opinion.
Chad O. Jackson is being debunked because he's not a historian but a plumber. The article here is twisted and a distortion of the truth. If you want the real truth about Dr. King from more thorough and accurate research, visit the following:
I was aware of MLK's unChristian views before Mr. Jackson's work further exposed his beliefs. The door that Mr. Jackson opened isn't going to be closed now. Furthermore, you don't need to be a historian to discern truth about history.
The problem is, whether you got it from Jackson or somewhere else, what you have is a distortion of Dr. King's work that focuses on his old school writings from 1948 to 1951, when Dr. King lived, preached and wrote after that. To pin his entire life's ministry to those small years is a distortion.
Later on Dr. King affirmed the Trinity and deity of Jesus. Yet are you saying that doesn't matter? You can't be serious. That fact alone should blast the door closed, unless facts just don't matter to you. If that's the case, good luck with living like that. I choose to live by the WHOLE truth, not a distorted and inaccurate view of Dr. King.
A real eye opener. There is just so much to consider when it comes to understanding the situation we are in. More and more I realise just how important the Bible is.
Sir Virgil Walker, I thank you, appreciating your search of real truth delivering it to a world of fallen people that believe in falsehoods, choosing to celebrate a man that was an unbeliever in the Sovereignty of the father, the son and the holy spirit, but yet positioned Himself as a man of the most high God, Brother Sir Virgil Walker, due continue truth telling, it's good for the human soul. God bless you Virgil Walker and your beautiful biblical structure of family..I am listening!!!
Long ago, MLK came up in a conversation with another pastor. The other pastor commented that MLK did much to knock down Jim Crow and prejudice, but at the end of the day, he was a secular saint rather than a Bible-believing Christian. Thanks, Virgil, for citing King's own words.
Hatred or indifference toward Christianity cannot bring about positive spiritual change. Jesus said: "no one comes to the Father except through Me". Therefore, any ministry who disinclines or diminishes Jesus deserves no pulpit. This life is short and the intent behind progress is important. People do not belong on pedestals. Pedestals should belong to God alone. It is not discrimination to disagree with Martin Luther King's take on Jesus. Hatred is defeated when His Peace is sought through Jesus. Hopefully, those that want equality will realize that discernment is necessary for progress. Thank you Virgil for promoting truth here. WWG1WGA God help US and God bless America.
Many would shrug and say, “That die is cast. Why bother?” And true enough - the protests and activism practiced by MLK and his inner circle WERE indeed righteous! That cannot be taken from him, and who would want to? But millions of Americans, myself included, watched as he conflated those righteous principles with his station as the REVEREND Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who served as a co-pastor with his father at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Was there ever any doubt the theology embraced by that church? I can’t help but feel a little hoodwinked, like someone who slips past me and uses a false premise to do so. My disappointment is not a result of the beliefs of Dr. King - I am never surprised that men and women are just that - men and women. But I balk at public figures who deceive their flock. And sins of omission are still sins. I always learn something here. Thank you.
I was born in 1961 to white parents in Birmingham, Alabama. My best friend in 3rd grade was a little girl named Marcita. She was about a head taller then me and wore braids everyday to school. Her mother's name was Olive. Olive had worked with my mother. There was a little boy named Michael that had a mean streak in our class. He teased Marcita frequently and had a nickname for her, "Moose". One day the teasing became too much and she started crying. Michael's mouth was bigger than his butt. I was an average sized girl, but had never been taught not to fight. Our fight on the playground was brief, but he never teased Marcita again. I was the only white child in this story. This period in my life taught me more than King ever did. I never thought much of a man that would use schoolchildren as bait. Birmingham today is a hollowed out shell of what it once was. My 3rd grade school and all the others I attended are in blighted neighborhoods. Drug deals, cartels. gangs, overdoses, murders, etc ...... cover the entire city limits. The surrounding county is slowly feeling it. The mayor and city government are followers of Social Justice. The Civil Rights Museum decided to give an annual award to one of the most famous Marxists of the 20th century. The church where the little girls lost their lives is across the street from it. I retired and moved 50 miles away. If I had Marcita's number today, I'd call her and invite her to live here.
VIRGIL WALKER never misses the point!! You're a remarkable man, Mr. Walker, and I'm grateful to have access to your writing. Thank you for access to your wise commentary. Didn't find more wisdom in any of my graduate degree courses.
Watching clips of local schools and organizations celebrating the day, the truths in your article took on a different meaning. You shared several things I wasn’t aware of.
King enjoys a lofty pedestal. How many know what he really believed, the number of biblical lines he crossed. It was more than just unconventional theology. Maybe the bigger question is, do they even care?
Thank you for this honest look at a historical figure.

I would suggest you do more thorough research beyond the superficial claims of Mr. Walker, and start by viewing this comprehensive video series on Dr. King: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5lfgnL1VDc&list=PLwmgRTGkRRNcbmBCIjoeqUyAhcSeo3jDU

Thank you for such clarity and an affirmation of what I have known to be true for decades. It shows how subtle a lie can be.

Virgil, I’m so glad that you never want to tackle controversial subjects! LOL!
But seriously, thank you for always speaking truth.

A good synopsis. Today is also Robert E Lee’s birthday, an actual American hero and devout orthodox Christian.

Thank you Mr Virgil. I’ve always had an uneasy feeling about MLK. When I learned of his belief I was understood why 💔. So many lost to his teaching
There is no salvation if you don't believe in the divinity of Christ. You can't be a Christian if you don't believe in Christ.

Thank you for expounding upon the truth about MLK, Jr. and his false “theology,” Pastor Virgil. Tragic!💔😢🙏✝️
